Glofiish M700 – WM 6: benchmark test!
E-TEN Corp has just released an official Windows Mobile 6 update for their M700 handheld. This eagerly awaited firmware can now be downloaded from their international web page, although users must first request and receive an Action Key.
This new OS release breathes new life into the M700 and allows the device to competitively reposition itself in a rapidly evolving market. The WM6 update installs the latest versions of all the applets and programs that were originally included with the M700 PDA GPS Phone – not bad at all, considering that the Glofiish line of devices come with a very impressive list of free bundled software. The most noticeable changes to WM6 include HTML e-mail support, a more stable Web browser and a revisited user interface that now bears the same graphical style as Windows Vista, including the Aero transparency effects.
As you probably know be now, here at SoloPalmari we love to benchmark our PDAs, and even this time round we couldn’t wait to compare the M700’s new performance results against earlier test scores obtained with the device running Windows Mobile 5.0. The test was carried out as usual with the faithful assistance of the Spb Benchmark application. The results revealed quite a few interesting surprises – Read on to learn more!
